What measures is Vlisco taking to be sustainable?Updated 2 months ago

At Vlisco, we take sustainability very seriously and we are committed to implementing several initiatives to ensure a positive impact on the environment.

Reducing CO2 Emissions

We are actively working on shortening our supply chains to reduce CO2 emissions. Our efforts also include minimizing emissions within our Tier 1 and Tier 2 operations to lessen our overall carbon footprint.

Waste Reduction Targets

We have set targets to significantly reduce waste over the next five years. We make sure that our waste streams are treated properly.

REACH Compliance

All of the products used to make the Vlisco fabrics are purchased in accordance with REACH regulations. All Vlisco products are produced according to local and European Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.

Chemical Safety in Dyeing Process

Our dyeing processes involve no harmful or potentially harmful chemicals. This step ensures that our products are safer for the environment.

Careful Sourcing of our Cotton

Our cotton suppliers all sign up to our requirements on corporate social responsibility and share our commitment to environmentally friendly manufacturing. We have also committed to increase CmiA (Cotton made in Africa) where we will know for sure that the cotton is grown without irrigation and with controlled (and minimal) use of pesticides and fertilisers.

We are dedicated to continuing these efforts and constantly seeking new ways to enhance our environmental practices for a more sustainable future.
